How Notal Care works

Notal Care supports the work around the treatment session: recording, organising and retrieving. The clinical thinking stays with you. Notal Care consists of a core for documentation and record building, and clinical modules that support the treatment team with diagnostics and case formulation. The clinical modules are being certified as a medical device (MDR, class IIa) and will become available after CE marking, expected in the third quarter of 2027.

Available

Core

The core layer is available now and is not a medical device.

  • Available

    Draft report

After the session, a draft report is ready in your organisation's mental health care formats, short or detailed. You edit it, approve it and export it as Word or PDF or through your EHR.

  • Available

    Record building per phase

The record follows your organisation's phases: biography, intake, diagnostics, case formulation, treatment plan, discharge. Notal Care lines up relevant passages from earlier sessions for the right phase; what you record, you write yourself. You choose the case formulation format.

  • Available

    Treatment overview

One overview per client of phase, reports and evaluations.

  • Available

    Overview for lead practitioners

Which courses of treatment run under your supervision (verlengde arm), in which phase, when they were last evaluated and what colleagues have recorded.

  • Available

    Collaboration

Roles and permissions per organisation, team and record. Access and changes are logged.

  • Available

    AI agent for your record

An AI agent that helps you structure and query your record further. This is a first version with limitations: stored information is not automatically taken into account with every question, and what is not found is not necessarily absent. Check answers against the source.

Clinical modules

Direction: support with diagnostics and case formulation, and flagging themes that recur across sessions. These modules are now being clinically evaluated as part of certification.

What Notal Care does not do (yet): no diagnosis, no treatment advice. Flags are a prompt for reflection, not a conclusion.

Frequently asked questions

Does Notal Care make clinical decisions?

No. Notal Care organises session material and makes suggestions; you assess, edit and decide. As development continues, clinical judgement stays with the clinician.

Is Notal Care a medical device?

Partly. The core for documentation and record building is not. The clinical modules are being certified as a class IIa medical device; they will become available after CE marking, expected in the third quarter of 2027.

Does Notal Care work with our EHR?

Scrivio, Epos, Zilos, HCI and more on request. You can also export as Word or PDF.

Is the session stored?

The audio is not. The transcript is.

Can we try it ourselves first?

Yes, with a two-week trial for clinicians. For a pilot within an organisation, we schedule a demo first.
