Record building
Case formulation and record building with AI in mental health care
From intake to case formulation in one record, for Dutch mental health care (GGZ). You choose the format; Notal Care lines up relevant passages from earlier sessions. What you record, you write yourself.

Record building per phase
The record follows your organisation's phases. Notal Care lines up relevant passages from earlier sessions for the right phase; what you record, you write yourself.

What a transcript does not replace
A case formulation is about how things fit together for this one client. That takes more than what was said in the sessions.
Your own observations. A transcript does not contain everything you observe, nor test data or other assessments. You add those yourself.
Three separate assessments. Case formulation, classification and treatment indication remain separate. One does not automatically follow from the other.
A format is not a model. A format organises text. Which diagnostic or treatment framework you apply is up to you.
Not found is not absent. What is not in the material is not, for that reason, a negative finding.
Evaluating the treatment plan
After twelve sessions you check whether the case formulation still holds. Notal Care places the original formulation next to what has been recorded since.
Clinical modules
Support with diagnostics and case formulation is being certified as a medical device (class IIa, expected Q3 2027).

Frequently asked questions
Does Notal Care make clinical decisions?
No. Notal Care organises session material and makes suggestions; you assess, edit and decide. As development continues, clinical judgement stays with the clinician.
Is Notal Care a medical device?
Partly. The core for documentation and record building is not. The clinical modules are being certified as a class IIa medical device; they will become available after CE marking, expected in the third quarter of 2027.
Is Notal Care scientifically validated?
Yes. Notal Care is academically validated and scientifically anchored at LIACS (Leiden University), where our research method was also validated. The product has been validated in practice at the first Dutch mental health care (GGZ) organisations using it. Follow-up research has been running since October 2026; we publish the results on our science page.
